November’s birthday galore: Happy birthday to (literally) half my household

I know… It’s December and I’m still going on about November… I already wrote this entry though… IT HAS TO SEE THE LIGHT. 🥲

November gets crazy in my home. No complaints though, I look forward to the 3  (or more) times I get to stuff my face in cake. Fun fact: I always volunteer to get the cake since it means having the liberty to choose the flavors I like or want to try (I know, I’m the sister everyone wants). I would consider my family to be pretty big. I have an elder brother and two younger ones, my mum and dad + our little Shiba, Haru. Haru joined our family a year and a half ago and she is the sweetest little girl. 🖤

Sometimes, I feel like our family would make a ton of money if we were on reality T.V. just because of how different every single one of us are. Sit on a dining table with us and you’ll understand exactly what I mean (I feel my close friends laughing already).

Anyway, this is a little recount of what went down in the month.

In order, we first had my littlest brother’s birthday. We spent the evening at SolePomodoro Trattoria Pizzeria at Sentosa Cove (I forgot how pretty Sentosa Cove was). The food was subpar though, especially at its price point. I wished I had taken more food photos… My bad! Heh.

Happy birthday, my baby brother aka my co-dog parenting partner. 😳🤮 P.S. I love pretty candles.
Cake (Salted Caramel Red Velvet) was from Butter Studios. Not bad if you’re someone with a sweet tooth. The price point wasn’t unreasonable either. Everyone who tried it said it was really good.

In mid-November, we celebrate my lovely Mom’s birthday. It’s difficult to articulate how much I admire and love this lady. She is the strongest, most faithful and faith-filled woman I knowloyal, kind, generous and so much more. I’ve seen her go through some of the toughest stuff life can throw at you with such grace and strength. Even in harder seasons, she does not ever forget to extend love to those around her. Dearest Mom, you are truly an inspiration. Stop being so cool, I cannot keep up (like, actually).

For her birthday, we went to JUMBO at Dempsey. The restaurant was clean, bright and spacious. However, I think I would have liked to sit in their outdoor space a little bit more. Crab, good. Vegetables, good. Fish maw soup, good. Pork ribs, good. Cereal peeled prawns, good. I was too busy eating… I forgot the photos… (again).

And oh-my-goodness. You guys. If you’re looking for cakes to buy, check out Nesuto. IT IS TOO GOOD.

BOUJEE GIRLS NIGHT!!!

Of course, I had to crash my Mom’s date with her sister at their Omakase meal. It was my first Omakase experience and damn. WAS IT GOOD. I might have enjoyed myself a bit more than my Mom.

Thanks for having us, Haku Sushi.

The last one in my family to have his birthday is none other than, Kayhan. Mr KK.

We nicknamed him KK for two reasons:

  1. His name starts with K (duh).

  2. He used to be in and out of KK Hospital a lot.

He’s the introvert of our family, the one who minds his biz, and keeps to himself a lot. He’s also hella talented but doesn’t know it as much as I do. We went to our go-to cafe (which allowed Haru to be present), The Coastal Settlement. Unfortunately, the food was not as good as we remembered it to be. The ambience was lovely as usual. Clearly, I just like an outdoor setting - Something about it, no? Especially at night. It just feels cosy & really nice.

Heh. Thanks for tuning in guys! That’s a wrap up on my November. There was a lot of eating, laughing and living.
